Bike Borne Miscreants Loot Cash, Open Fire At Cops In Odisha

Cuttack/Nayagarh: Two bike borne miscreants allegedly looted over Rs 4 lakh from a staff of a liquor shop under Kanpur police limits in Narsinghpur block of Cuttack district on Sunday night.

As per reports, unidentified miscreants intercepted the employee of the liquor shop at Rusipadachhak when he was returning with nearly Rs 4.6 lakh cash after closing the shop. The miscreants allegedly looted the cash after terrorising him at gunpoint.

After a police complaint was lodged in connection with the incident, local Kanpur police alerted other police stations regarding the movement of the bike-borne miscreants. Though all exit routes were sealed, miscreants were able to give a slip by opening fire at a police team near Kantilo in Nayagarh.

Sources said the miscreants took the Kantilo road after crossing Sidhamula bridge. On sensing trouble, the miscreants fled the spot after leaving their motorcycle which has been seized by police.

Meanwhile, police have launched a probe to nab the miscreants.
