Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday sealed Reliance Trends store in Saheed Nagar area in the city following detection of a series of COVID-19 positive cases.

The store has been shut down for a period of seven days starting from today ‘in larger public interest and with a view to contain the further spread or virus’, the civic body said in a release.

“In view of detection of a series of COVID-19 Positive Cases among the in Reliance Trends, Sahid Nagar, Janpath, Bhubaneswar, in larger public interest and with a view to contain the further spread of virus, the Reliance Trends Store at Saheed Nagar, Janpath, Bhubaneswar is sealed for a period of 07days from 29.04.2021 to 05.05.2021,” it said.

The civic authorities said the premises of Reliance Trends shall be sanitised with immediate effect by the store head in adherence to guidelines issued by Odisha government and Centre.

No one will be allowed to move into or from outside the premises of Reliance Trends during the period of sealing, except authorised personnel of the BMC.

Those who have been found positive at the store have been directed to remain in Isolation at their respective residences. The Store Manager has been asked to intimate BMC immediately if any positive case needs medical attention.

Moreover, the store manager has been asked to inform BMC in case symptoms are observed in other staff.
