Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar MP and national spokesperson of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Aparajita Sarangi has been adjudged as the 'Best Parliamentarian' for the year 2020.

A joint survey conducted by Asia Post and Fame India organizations ranked Sarangi, a former IAS officer, as the best amongst the lot.

The MPs were tested on various parameters such as involvement in public services, hearing public issues and redressing their grievances, popularity, image, effectiveness, working style, active participation in debates and Question Hour in the Lower House. The BJP MP has been highly rated in all the parameters which were taken into account for the survey and garnered a score of 100 for attendance in Parliamentary sessions.

Taking to Twitter, the BJP MP stated, "Glad to hear about the survey results by Asia Post and Fame India organizations yesterday. Being adjudged as the Best Parliamentarian for my performance during last year strengthens my resolve to work for the people with renewed vigour. Lots to learn. I am grateful to all and humbled."

"Politics to me implies development, public policy and public service. I had three roles to play: as a People's Representative, as a Parliamentarian in the Lok Sabha and as a Member of my Party — Bharatiya Janata Party. I had ample role clarity right from day one. As a people's representative, I tried to have as much interface with everyone in my Constituency as possible. Grievance redressal mechanism has been stabilised by now. Hearing people out and following up on all issues helped redress many grievances. I tried to articulate and draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the issues of my Constituency in various fora including Lok Sabha and Parliamentary Standing Committees," the MP has stated in the ARC, adding that she would come up with this Report every year during Rath Yatra.
