Bhubaneswar 'Gang Rape' Case: POCSO Court Reserves Order On Bail Plea Of 4 Accused

Bhubaneswar: A special POCSO Court has reserved verdict on the bail plea of the four accused who were arrested by the Crime Branch of Odisha Police on Monday in connection with the alleged gang rape of a minor girl earlier on Monday.

The Court is scheduled to pronounce its' verdict on December 18. Till then, the four accused will stay in judicial custody.

A couple of security guards and two employees of OTV against whom the minor girl’s mother had lodged a complaint, were reportedly picked up by CB officials from their homes late last night.

Though the police personnel accused in the alleged gang rape of the minor girl in Bhubaneswar are yet to be identified, Director General (DG) of Police Abhay on Monday categorically stated that the police action will be based on the evidence gathered against the accused.

"The Crime Branch is investigating the case. Action will be taken against persons based on evidence during the course of investigation," said Abhay.
