Bhubaneswar: With detection of 68 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, the total virus tally in the capital city rose to 29,522 according to the data shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Of the fresh cases, 54 are local contacts while the remaining 14 are from quarantine, the civic body said in a tweet.

Bhubaneswar also registered 115 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Total recoveries in the city currently stand at 28,395.

As far as Odisha is concerned, the state saw another spike in deaths due to Covid-19 on Thursday. At least 14 patients undergoing treatment at several hospitals succumbed to the infection pushing the Covid-19 death toll to 1,378.

As many as 1,385 persons were tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours taking the cumulative caseload to 2,97,274.
