Bhubaneswar COVID-19 Update: 61 New Cases, 91 Recoveries In Last 24 Hours

Bhubaneswar: With detection of 61 new COVID-19 positive cases in the last 24 hours, the total virus tally in the capital city rose to 29, 583 according to the data shared by the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).

Of the fresh cases, 48 are local contacts while the remaining 13 are from quarantine, the civic body said in a tweet.

Bhubaneswar also registered 91 recoveries in the last 24 hours. Total recoveries in the city currently stand at 28,486.

Earlier in the day, the coronavirus tally in Odisha has inched closer to 3 lakh-mark with the detection of 1,494 new cases in the last 24 hours. With this, the overall Covid-19 infections surged to 2,98,768 on Friday. The death toll mounted to 1,393 as 15 more patients succumbed to the disease during the period, as per the data of the State Health Department.
