Bhubaneswar: The post-mortem of body parts recovered from the petrol pump blast site near Raj Bhawan in Bhubaneswar has been carried out, informed Police Commissioner, Sudhanshu Sarangi on Saturday.

“The post-mortem has been completed. But it is yet to be ascertained whether the body parts belong to one or more persons. Therefore, the cell and DNA tests of the body parts will be conducted by forensic medicine and toxicology experts,” Sarangi told OTV.

On the missing Ganjam youth Simanchal Parida, Sarangi said the DNA samples of his family members will be mapped with the recovered body parts to establish his identity.

Speaking about the ongoing investigation into the blast, Sarangi said, “The probe is looking into various aspects. It will take time to pinpoint whose negligence led to the mishap.”
