Bhawanipatna: The Bhawanipatna Autonomous College in Kalahandi district will get university status soon, announced Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a Mission Shakti programme in the district today.

Addressing a public gathering at the programme, Patnaik stated that Rs 5 crore assistance will be allocated for development of infrastructure of the Science laboratory at the Bhawanipatna Women's College.

Besides, the CM declared Rs 15,000 financial assistance along with Rs 3,000 for purchasing smartphones, for newly formed self help groups (SHGs). Moreover, the CM also laid the foundation stones of 22 projects during his visit.

After inaugurating the Ret Irrigation project, Patnaik attended a 'Misran Parba' in Junagarh as well.
