Bhubaneswar: The authorities of Utkal University on Thursday postponed +3 5th semester (Arts, Science, Commerce) examinations on account of Bharat Bandh tomorrow (March 26).

In an official notification, the varsity officials informed that the scheduled semester exam is postponed due to Bharat Bandh and it has been rescheduled for March 30, 2021.

It is pertinent to mention here that farmer unions protesting the three agricultural laws have called a complete ‘Bharat Bandh’ tomorrow. Rail and road transportation services are likely to be affected in view of the bandh.

The Odisha Unit of Congress has also extended support to the Bharat Bandh called by the farmer unions.

“All the farmer unions have called for Bharat Bandh tomorrow. The Congress party has extended full support to the bandh. We have asked all district presidents to ensure that they fully support the bandh,” said Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) President, Niranjan Patnaik.

The State government has decided to strengthen security arrangements for Lok Seva Bhawan, Kharavela Bhawan in Bhubaneswar.

In a notification, the State government has asked the officers and employees of the departments working from Lok Seva, Kharavela and Rajiv Bhawan to reach office latest by 9:30 am.
