Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) postponed the Odisha Civil Services -2019 (Main) examination scheduled to be held tomorrow (December 8) in view of the Bharat Bandh.

In a notification, the OPSC wrote, “Taking into cognizance of the difficulties to be faced by the candidates in approaching the examination centres due to Bharat Bandh, the OCS-2019 Main Examination (GS-I and GS-II) scheduled to be held on December 8 is hereby postponed.”

As per the notification, the examination will be conducted on January 2, 2021 and the time and same venue will remain the same.

It is pertinent to mention here farmers' union leaders have announced Bharat Bandh on December 8 protesting the new farm laws passed by the Centre.

The Bharat Bandh call has been supported by several political parties including the Left and Congress.
