Beware! FAKE NEWS On Berhampur Shutdown Found Circulating On Social Media With OTV Logo

Bhubaneswar: A fake news regarding shutdown of Berhampur city is doing rounds on social media with OTV graphics and logo even as the channel has not aired any such news this year.

Neither the TV channel nor its digital platform has published/telecast any sort of news. Some mischief mongers have used the logo and graphics of the channel to spread the fake news in a bid to mislead people.

OTV, as a trusted and responsible news channel has urged people not to believe in such fake news. Such mischievous activities are not only condemnable but criminal offence.

Ganjam district administration has also clarified it as fake. In the official twitter account of Ganjam district administration, Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange has stated that the social media post was not based on fact. He further clarified "there is no announcement regarding shutdown of Bermapur."
