Bar association elections across Odisha conclude

Bhubaneswar: Elections were held at all the bar associations across the State today. Along with the High Court bar, elections were also held for other bar associations today.

Gopalkrushna Mohanty was elected president of Orissa High Court Bar Association while Sanjay Das will be the secretary.

Similarly, for Bhubaneswar Bar Association, Birendra Patnaik was elected president, while Biswanarayan Mohanty will be the new secretary.

The voting process began today morning around 8 AM and continued till 2 PM in the afternoon.

Odisha became the first to implement 'one bar, one vote' rule as per the direction of the Supreme Court. As per this rule, an advocate with membership of multiple bar associations can only vote for one bar.
