Balasore: Food safety officials raided several hotels in Balasore on Friday to conduct surprise food quality inspections. During the raids, the food safety officials seized around 35 kgs of stale food and other harmful chemicals used at the hotels for preparing food.

As per reports, food safety officials launched a surprise raid at several hotels in different locations of the Balasore district and seized stale food. Later on, the officials destroyed the seized stale food.

“We have sent samples of seized food items to the food testing lab for inspection. After receiving the lab reports, we will issue notices to the errant vendors who don't meet the food quality requirements," said food safety officer, Ajit Mohapatra.

"If any of the vendors fail to comply with the rules as mentioned in the notice, we will issue prohibitory orders," Mohapatra added.
