Bhubaneswar: The fundraising drive for the Ram Mandir construction in Ayodhya has collected over Rs 42 crore from Odisha, informed the secretary of Sri Ram Janmabhumi Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti, Odisha unit on Sunday.
A month and half-long drive was carried out across the State from Makar Sankranti (January 14) to Magha Purnima (February 27) to collect funds for the temple construction.

As many as 58,992 members of the trust visited 43,749 villages in Odisha to collect the donation. The funds were collected from 74,95,000 families. People from all communities came forward to join the drive and contributed for the construction of Ram Temple, said a press release issued by the State unit of the temple trust.
“The funds have been raised three times more than what we were expecting. We never thought the people of Odisha will join the drive to such an extent and make donations for the construction of Ram Temple,” said secretary of Sri Ram Janmabhumi Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Samiti, Odisha, Gopal Prasad Mohapatra.
The outfit has thanked the people of Odisha for making donations for the noble cause.
