Bhubaneswar: Alleging the involvement of the ruling-Biju Janata Dal (BJD) in the attack during Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda’s roadshow in Aul of Kendrapara district last evening, a delegation of Bharatiya Janata party (BJP) led by party's vice-president  Samir Mohanty moved to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Odisha today.

The saffron party’s vice-president alleged that the members of Biju Yuva Vahini (BYV) disrupted Jay Panda’s roadshow by attacking BJP workers & ransacking their vehicle.  Mohanty alleged that BJD leaders have become violent and attacking the BJP workers even in the presence of police, while the cops are remaining silent.

He further said that the people of the state will give a befitting reply to the regional party in the on-going elections.

However, BJD’s response to saffron party’s allegations could not be obtained.

It is worth mentioning here that some miscreants allegedly attacked BJP workers during the roadshow of party’s national vice-president and Kendrapara Lok Sabha candidate Jay Panda at Juania Chhak in Aul last evening. Two workers of the saffron party were injured and their vehicle was damaged in the attack. As per the allegations, the attack was carried out by some local BJD workers.

As per reports, five persons attacked Trilochana Patra and Alekha Parida of the BJP, who were a part of the convoy of Jay Panda’s roadshow. As per the allegations of the victims, local sarpanch’s husband along with his supporters carried out the attack.
