Sambalpur: Alleging gross irregularities in the recruitment of civil constables in the district, the job aspirants have knocked the doors of the Superintendent of Police stating that the initial merit list published after a written and physical examination was changed. The revised list, published later, did not mention their names, the aspirants further alleged.

Demanding revocation of the second list, the aspirants met Sambalpur SP Sanjeev Arora on Monday and apprised him of the matter.

However, the SP informed that due to some technical glitches in publication of the first list, a revised list was released.

“Due to some technical problems in the previous list, a revised list was released later. Meanwhile, the marks and other rankings they secured have been shown to them and if they seek further help, it will be given accordingly,” informed Arora.

“The SP showed us our answer sheets and told us that the marks that were awarded to us are appropriate,” stated a complainant Sohani Purti.

She further said, “When we asked the official about the absence of our names in the revised list though we were selected in the first merit list, he said that it was a mistake.”
