Bhubaneswar: Another low pressure system is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Friday.

As per the latest bulletin, a Cyclonic Circulation lies over East Equatorial Indian Ocean and adjoining south Andaman Sea and extends up-to 5.8km above mean sea level.

Under its influence, a Low-Pressure Area is very likely to form over Southeast Bay of Bengal during the next 48hours and likely to intensify further thereafter.

It is likely to move nearly westwards and reach Tamil Nadu­ Puducherry coasts around December 2, 2020, IMD said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Depression over South Coastal Andhra Pradesh & neighbourhood moved north-north-eastwards and weakened into a well-marked Low Pressure area and lay centered over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh & adjoining West-central Bay of Bengal.

Warning:

Light to moderate rainfall is likely to occur at isolated places over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

Wind warning

Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is likely to prevail over west-central Bay of Bengal and along & off south Andhra Pradesh coast during next 12 hours.

Fishermen Warning

Fishermen are advised not to venture into Westcentral Bay of Bengal and along & off south Andhra Pradesh coast during next 12 hours.

Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of interior, south coastal Odisha in the next 24 hours.

The IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre has also issued dense fog alert for districts of Nuapada, Bolangir, Boudh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nayagarh and Khordha.
