Bhubaneswar: The annual Class X and XII examinations conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) began on Tuesday.

A total of 67,808 students of Class X and 54,181 students of Class XII from Odisha, Chhattisgarh and West Bengal under the Bhubaneswar region are appearing in the examinations at 186 examination centres. Among them are about 25,000 students of Class X and 14,000 students of Class XII from Odisha appearing in the examinations at 63 centres across the state.

About 25 lakh students of both the classes are appearing in the annual examinations in the country.

The students were allowed to enter into the examination halls at 10 AM and were given the question papers at 10.15 AM.

To ensure smooth conduct of the examinations, CBSE has appointed special observers in each centre.

The CBSE examinations for Class X will continue till March 28, while Class XII examinations will end on April 2.
