Puri: Prohibitory orders under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) will be in force within 200 metres of Gopinath Dev Temple at Sakhigopal area of Puri district from midnight tonight.

The restrictions on any kind of congregation has been clamped as part of the strategy adopted by the concerned district administration to prevent the spread of COVID-19 during observance of Anla Navami and Bada Ekadasi from November 23( tomorrow) and November 25, 2020.

Usually thousands of devotees congregate around the temple to witness the Anla Navami and Bada Ekadasi Utsav every year.

A lot of stalls also come up from Chandanpokhari to Sidhabahakul temple and near Gopinath Dev temple in Sakhigopal.

District administration officials informed that no person other than servitors engaged in the service of the deity and other government officials will be allowed to congregate near the temple. The opening of stalls from Chandanpokhari to Sidhabahakul temple and near Gopinath Dev temple will also be not allowed, informed Satyabadi Tehsildar, Manoj Nayak.

The Inspector-in-charge of Satyabadi Police Station has also been asked to promulgate the order at different places in the area to create awareness among people about the prohibitory orders.

Senior police officials informed that special security arrangements will be made near the Sakhigopal temple for Anla Navami and Bada Ekadasi utsav.
