Bhubaneswar: Parents and guardians of the children studying in Unit-VIII DAV Public School, Bhubaneswar gheraoed the Principal’s office on Monday during a meeting held to discuss several issues pertaining to the school.

The meeting discussed multiple allegations of the parents, and soon, an altercation broke out between the principal and the parents. The altercation turned so bad that police had to arrive and rescue the principal, Ipsita Das.

The situation was later brought under control after police pacified the irate parents inside the school premises.

The parents alleged that every year school fee is hiked by 10 to 15 per cent and the school is going through financial irregularities. "School authorities are not communicating with us regarding the deposit amount and the expenses incurred. They were not able to show us adequate documents so we demanded to withdraw the PTCC (Parents Teacher Coordination Committee) and in the upcoming days if it is not clarified, they should cancel it completely," said Satyajit Swain, a parent.
