Puri: Ahead of US President Donald Trump’s visit to India, international sand artist Sudarshan Pattnaik created a magnificent sand sculpture at Puri sea beach.

Extending a warm welcome, Padmashree Sudarshan Pattnaik created the sand sculpture of Trump and First Lady Melania Trump with a message ‘Wel-come to India.’

“There is already an excitement among people of India and hence, we have created a sand art to welcome US President and First Lady Melania at Puri,” said Pattnaik.

Patnaik informed that the portraits of Trump and Melania have been created in the backdrop of the iconic Taj Mahal.

“As Trump is scheduled to visit Taj Mahal, we have created the sand art to welcome him. It took five hours and five tonnes of sand to create the sculpture,” Pattnaik added.

The US President will be on his two-day maiden visit to India from February 24. As per reports, Trump is scheduled to visit Agra after 4 pm on Monday during which he will visit the Taj Mahal and attend a cultural function.

Trump will be accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and daughter Ivanka during the tour.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pattnaik’s recent sand sculpture on ‘Fight Against Coronavirus’ received global appreciation. The sand art was created to express solidarity with China’s fight against coronavirus which has so far claimed over 2000 lives.

Patnaik’s sand art, "Fight Against Coronavirus, We Stand With China" was appreciated by many, including Chinese Ambassador, Sun Weidong and the Director-General of WHO, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
