Bhubaneswar: The agitating teachers have vowed to spread their voices from Lower PMG in Bhubaneswar to all the 314 blocks of Odisha. The protesting teachers have now threatened to intensify their stir by taking out ‘padyatra’ in all the panchayats.

"If the government still remains callous to our demands, we will take out ‘padyatra’ in all panchayats across the State and distribute leaflets," warned Prakash Mohanty, convener of All Odisha School College Teachers and Employees' United Forum.

Posters will also be put up across the State making people aware of our ordeal, he added.

However, with the agitation entering its 27th day there seems to no solution in sight.

Though the matter was raised in the State Assembly today and later in the all-party meeting, nothing fruitful came out of it.

"The concerned minister will hold discussions with the teachers and in case it ends inconclusively, the matter will be raised again in the State Assembly tomorrow," said Opposition chief whip Tara Prasad Bahinipati.

Meanwhile, School and Mass Education Minister, Badri Patra said, "We are always ready for discussions as it is the only way to find out a solution to the stalemate."
