Abandoned suitcase triggers panic near Birapurushottampur station

Pipili: Panic gripped locals near Birapurushottampur station today after an open suitcase with wires popping out was spotted near railway tracks.

As per reports, a few locals spotted the suitcase near the tracks around 11 am. Suspecting that the suitcase might contain explosives, they informed the Railway Protection Force (RPF) about the matter.  While a large crowd gathered to have a look at the 'suitcase bomb', the railway authorities had to halt as many as five trains for about an hour as a preventive measure.

The RPF personnel who rushed to the spot, seized the suitcase and after examination, ruled out presence of any explosives. "After examination of the seized material, we found a few toys. There is no reason to panic," the officials clarified.

Meanwhile trains services have resumed on the track.
