Abandoned Newborn Boy Rescued In Ganjam

Ganjam : A newborn  baby boy was found abandoned  near a farm at Kebirisara village under Belaguntha block of Bhanjanagar  in the district.

According to information, a few locals in the village spotted the infant on the roadside and with the help of ASHA workers admitted him to the Bhanjanagar hospital where he is undergoing treatment.

The health condition of the child is stable now, informed sources. "I rushed to the spot soon after getting the information. The locals had already rescued the child and we took him to the hospital. His condition is stable now. The villagers want that the child should be returned to them after treatment," said ASHA worker Sabita Biswal.

"The infant seems to be a day old. He has been admitted to the Pediatric ICU. We have informed the Police and Child Helpline about the matter," said Dr. Brundaban  Gauda, a doctor at the Bhanjanagar hospital.

Meanwhile investigation is on to find out who abandoned the child, informed police.
