Puri: Devotees are now in a fix as chief administrator of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) Pradipta Mohapatra today claimed that no rate chart for the sale of ‘Abadha’ at Puri Srimandir has been approved yet.

Mohapatra further claimed that he was not aware about who has put up such rate chart inside the temple premises. He also stated that SJTA has not approved the final rate chart and the existing chart put up inside the temple will be removed.

"I won't comment on the rate chart as nothing has been officially approved. Neither the SJTA chief administrator nor the temple managing committee has approved the decision. The Suara Mahasuara Nijog might have put up that, but I am not sure about it," said Mohapatra.

Earlier, reports regarding the prices of Mahaprasad for the devotees being fixed at three different rates - Rs 70, Rs 80 and Rs 120 per thali based on the number of items were doing rounds.

Sources said the new system would have ensured devotees get Mahaprasad at a fixed and convenient price.

However, SJTA today informed that servitors might have put up the rate chart on basis of those reports.
