Bhadrak: Tension erupted at a private clinic in Bhadrak on Sunday following the death of a 9-year-old boy after he was allegedly administered wrong injection.
As per reports, the deceased boy identified as Kuna, son of Saroj Mahalik of Ichhapur village was suffering from fever for the last two days and was admitted to a private clinic.
The family members of the deceased boy have alleged that the latter died after he was administered with two wrong injections by a pharmacist Manas Panda.
“As per the blood test reports, my son was suffering from typhoid and urine infection. After the pharmacist administered him with two injections, my son died within two minutes,” father of the deceased boy said.
Following the incident family members of the patient and some locals staged a road blockade by placing the body on Bhadrak-Chandbali road demanding compensation. As a result, hundreds of vehicles were left stranded on both sides of the national highway.
The irate locals also blocked the road in front of the Motto police outpost demanding immediate arrest of the pharmacist.
On receiving information police rushed to the spot and pacified the agitating locals.
“A report has been filed by the family members. Further investigation into the incident is on and the accused will be arrested soon,” investigating officer Manoj Rout said.
