Bhubaneswar: At least 80 more COVID-19 patients recuperated on Tuesday, taking the total recoveries to 1325 in Odisha. With this, the State has more COVID-19 recoveries than the active cases which now stand at 911.

As per Health and Family Welfare Department, highest of 17 persons recuperated from COVID-19 in Puri, 16 from Kendrapara, 16 from Malkangiri, 7 from Cuttack, 3 each from Nayagarh, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Keonjhar and Jharsuguda, 2 each from Ganjam, Kandhamal and Khurda and 1 each from Bolangir, Jagatsinghpur and Nabarangpur districts.

Earlier today, Odisha reported 141 confirmed cases of Covid-19, taking the State’s tally to 2245. The fresh cases include 110 from quarantine centres and 31 local cases.

While Ganjam district reported the highest 27 coronavirus cases, 26 cases were detected in Khurda, 19 in Nuapada, 13 in Kendrapara and 10 in Jajpur, according to the State health department.

Similarly, Sundergarh reported 8 cases, Bolangir 7, Cuttack 6, Puri 5, Jagatsinghpur, Keonjhar and Gajapati reported 4 cases each, Balasore and Dhenkanal reported 2 cases each, Nayagarh, Mayurbhanj, Angul and Sambalpur reported 1 case each.


Ganjam district tops the chart of positive cases in Odisha with the detection of 458 Covid-19 cases so far. However, the active cases in the district have now gone down to 117 with 338 recoveries and three deaths.

Jajpur and Khurda districts stood at the second and third positions in the Covid-19 count with the detection of 290 and 167 cases respectively.

Jajpur has now 51 active cases with 239 recoveries and zero fatality while Khurda’s active cases stood at 93 with 70 recoveries and three deaths.
