Puri: As many as eight silver bricks were reportedly recovered from room number four of Emar Mutt in front of the 12th-century Jagannath Temple in the Piligrim City on Saturday.

Earlier yesterday, many valuable items were recovered from the ancient mutt.

A beautiful silver tree, flower, and bouquet were found inside the mutt. Besides, silver utensils and ornaments were also unearthed in the mutt.

Pair of cow and calf made of bronze and 16 ancient swords were recovered from the mutt. According to sources, the cow-calf sculpture was used during Jhulan Yatra.

After the Commissioner of Endowments took over possession of the mutt, a list of its property was prepared. The inventory of all items was done in presence of the magistrate.

In 2011, as many as 522 pieces of silver bricks, weighing over 18 tonnes worth and over a whopping Rs 90 crore had been recovered from four wooden boxes at the ancient mutt.
