Baripada: An eight-feet-long python was rescued from a canal at Khuntapal in Mayurbhanj district.

According to sources, locals spotted the reptile crawling near the canal on Wednesday evening and alerted the local snake helpline.
Officials of the snake helpline rescued the snake and released it in Similpal forest.

Earlier on August 9, the snake helpline officials rescued a 9-feet-long python from a farmland near Sakhigopal area in Puri district.
