Bhubaneswar: Four persons including a woman were killed while four others sustained injuries in separate wall collapse incidents due to incessant rainfall in Kendrapara, Balasore, Puri and Mayurbhanj districts on Friday.

According to reports, an octogenarian identified as Kailash Samal of Nuasahi in Ganeshpur area was killed while his wife sustained injuries after wall of their house collapsed on them in Aul area of Kendrapara district.

In another incident, a man was killed while his wife and daughter sustained grievous injuries in Jaleswar area of Balasore district. The incident took place at Bhadua village of Kalika Panchayat under Raibania Police limits following constant downpours. The mother-daughter duo has been rushed to Hathigada Community Health Centre for treatment.

Similarly, due to incessant rain in Puri, a wall collapsed in Kumbharapada area of the district leading to the death of Rasananda Bisoi, secretary of 'Kumbhakar Nijog'. According to information, Bisoi was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries. Following the incident, a pall of gloom descended on the family of Bisoi.

In Mayurbhanj, a woman was killed after the wall of her kitchen collapsed while she was cooking at her home in Khuntapal village in Rasgovindpur block. Another woman sustained injuries after a wall collapsed on her at Basantpura Village under Ghasipura block in Keonjhar district.
