Rourkela: Four dacoits were arrested by Biramitrapur Police on Wednesday in connection with loot of Rs 11 lakh pension money on October 15.

Two pistols, two bullets, Rs 4 lakh cash and two bikes were recovered from the accused who have been identified as Pintu Sahu from Biramitrapur, Samuel Ekka from Jhurmur, Nitish Mishra and Mohammed Tariq Salim both from Kuanrmunda in Sundergarh district.

As per reports, on October 15, the accused looted Rs 11 lakh from a car which was carrying money for pension beneficiaries and was on its way to Kuanrmunda block office from a private bank in Rourkela. The accused allegedly opened fire at the vehicle and looted the money at gunpoint. A security official was also injured in the incident.

Soumya Mishra, Sundergarh SP said, “Arms, ammunitions and cash were seized from the accused. They were also wanted in four other cases registered at Rajgangpur police station.”

Earlier the police had managed to arrest a home guard and a Supply Assistant of Kuanrmunda Panchayat Samiti on charges of aiding the accused.

Police are searching for two other suspects involved in the case.
