3 of a family critical as hill collapses on their house

Cuttack: Three persons of a family were critically injured after a portion of a hill collapsed on their house at Bishnupur village under Tigiria police limits in the district late Thursday night.

The injured have been identified as Kuna Swain, his wife and their son. The mishap occurred when the three were sleeping inside the house.

According to reports, a portion of the hill came crashing down on the house leading to the collapse of a wall of the house on them.

After being informed by the locals, fire personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the three trapped inside the debris.

The trio was initially rushed to the Tigiria hospital and later shifted to Athgarh Sub-division hospital. But as their condition deteriorated, they were referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
