Bhubaneswar: Three players from Odisha have been selected in the India squad for Tri- Nation Blind T-20 Cricket Tournament to be played in Bangladesh in April.

The players are Kalia Pradhan, Mohammed Jafar Iqbal  and Pankaj Bhue. While Pradhan and Iqbal have been selected in B1 category (totally blind) Bhue is placed in the partially sighted player category (B3).

The17-member squad announced by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India CABI represents nine states.

The Bangladesh Blind Cricket Council (BBCC) will host the Tri- Nation Blind T- 20 Cricket Tournament to be played from April 2- 08, 2021 in Dhaka on the occasion of the ‘Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rehman’ – “Mujib Barsho” and the 50th Independence Anniversary of Bangladesh.

India, Pakistan and the host Bangladesh teams will be taking part in the Tri- Nation Blind Cricket Tournament. This will be the first International tournament for the Blind since Covid -19 and the teams will follow all the terms and conditions along with the COVID -19 guidelines, said CABI.

The Coaching camp for the Indian team prior to the Tri- Nation Blind T20 Cricket Tournament scheduled to be held in Bangladesh kick started on March 25, 2021 at Bangabasi College Cricket Ground at Kolkata, West Bengal.
