Khurda: Three Odisha police officials were sent on compulsory retirement for their doubtful integrity in exercise of powers under Rule 71 of Odisha Service Code, informed DGP BK Sharma today.
The compulsory retirement orders of Sub-inspector Banamali Nayak, Assistant sub-inspectors Kishore Kumar Bag and Birabar Lenka were given by concerned Superintendents of Police in pursuance of 5-T policy of the State government, tweeted the office of the Director General of Police.
Khurda SP on Thursday informed that despite four years of service still left for SI Banamali Nayak, who was posted at Khurda SP Office, compulsory retirement was handed over to him as he was arrested by the Vigilance department on charges of bribery.
"Vigilance cases were pending against the three cops who have been given compulsory retirement. Action was also taken against them. Under a new initiative of Government of Odisha, such cops will be identified and action will be taken action against them," DGP Sharma said.
Similarly, two cops from Nayagarh Police-ASI Aparti Sahu and constable of Darpanarayanpur Police outpost, Achyut Pradhan were suspended over charges of lapses in investigation and failure to maintain public relations, respectively.
Earlier this month, the Odisha government had ordered compulsory retirement of seven high-ranking officials after allegations of corruption were proven against them.
