Cuttack: Mangalabag Police on Saturday arrested three more persons including a woman for their connivance in the escape of dreaded gangster Hyder from SCB Medical College and Hospital on April 10.

Speaking about the arrest of the trio, Cuttack DCP Prateek Singh said, “Today we have arrested three more persons in this connection. They have been identified as Archana Parida, Imran of Jobra area and Raiz of Kendrapara, all are associates of Hyder.”

Singh said raids will continue to nab all those involved in the fleeing of gangster Hyder. Earlier, four persons including Hyder, Sallu, A.Istiyak and Chiku were nabbed and forwarded to court.”

The DCP further said Hyder had contacted the trio when he was undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital. They were maintaining regular communication with him after he absconded and also extending help to him.

Hyder was lodged in Sambalpur circle jail and shifted to SCB for treatment when he escaped on April 10. Five days later, he was nabbed from Sangareddy district of Telangana.

In 2015, the Court of Additional District Judge-2 in Bhubaneswar had handed imprisonment for life to Hyderand two others in connection with the kidnap and murder of mine owner RashmiRanjanMohapatra.

Prior to that in 2011, Hyder and seven others were sentenced to life for killing Sheikh Chuna alias Malik Hanan, brother of gangster Sheikh Suleiman.
