Paradip/Angul/Paralakhemundi: As many as three persons were killed while two others sustained critical injuries in three separate road mishaps in Jagatsinghpur, Angul and Gajapati districts on Tuesday.

In Jagatsinghpur, a biker was killed after being hit by a truck at Tarinigadanear Paradip. The deceased was identified asPramod Das of nearby Chakradharpur village. Following the mishap, locals staged a road blockade near Atharabanki road demanding compensation for the kin of the deceased.

In another mishap, at least one person died and two others sustained critical injuries after their two-wheelers collided head-on near Chandibazaar under Angul police limits. While one SanjeevBiswal of Sakasingha village died on the spot, the two injured were immediately rushed to the district headquarters hospital where they are undergoing treatment, informed sources.

Another biker was killed after he was hit by a speeding truck near Siddhmadanga village of Gajapati district.  Though the identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained, sources informed he was a native of Ambajhari village.

Meanwhile, police have seized both the vehicles while further investigation into the incident is on.
