3 killed, 1 injured in separate road mishaps in Odisha

Jajpur/Mayurbhanj: At least three persons were killed while another sustained critical injuries in separate road accidents in Jajpur and Mayurbhanj districts of Odisha today.

According to reports, a man was killed and his minor daughter critically injured after a head-on collision with a truck near Baghua square on NH-53 under Jenapur police limits in Jajpur district. The deceased has been identified as Chittaranjan Swain of Bhejigot village.

The mishap occurred when Swain was taking his daughter for singing classes. While Swain died on the spot, his daughter was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital Cuttack in a critical condition.

Palpable tension prevailed in the area as the driver of the truck fled the spot after the mishap.

In another mishap in Mayurbhanj, two bikers were killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near Jagannathkhunta square on NH-18 under Bangriposhi police limits. The mishap occurred when the duo was returning home after watching ‘Jatra’ this morning.
