+3 First Cut Off List Announced; Check Details Here
Bhubaneswar: The higher education department on Wednesday published the first cut-off mark list of colleges for admission into Plus III streams in various colleges across the State.
Aspirants seeking admission in degree colleges of the State can access the website of the department for more information about the institutions and the cut-off marks as well before taking admission.
Continuing its trend as the first choice among students, the BJB college in the State capital secured top spot in the cut off mark list for Science stream this year. According to the list released by the government, BJB College has recorded the highest cut off of 93.5 % in Mathematics, 92.67% in Physics, 90.8 % in Chemistry, 87.67 % in Statistics subjects of Physical Science stream.
In Biological Science stream, BJB College has secured the highest cut off with 91.5 % and 88 % in Zoology and Botany respectively.
Similarly, it has also recorded highest cut off in as many as 12 major subjects of Arts stream including Geography (89%), Economics (85%), English (83.67), Political Science (83.5), and Sociology (80.5).
As the foremost choice of students, the college has recorded the highest cut off of 85.83 % in Commerce and sealed the top spot in Computer Science with 82.4%, Bio Technology 82% and Microbiology with 79% under the Self Finance stream.
Mihir Das, Admission In charge, Higher Education Department said, “A total of 2, 10,446 students had applied for admission in 1047 degree colleges of the State this year. Out of the total, 1, 88,222 students have been selected for admission in the first phase selection.”
According to sources, the Annexure 7 (Undertaking for the applicants who get selected against their lower option and do not want to slide up to higher options in the subsequent selection) which was abolished during past years has been re-implemented.
It may be noted that after publication of first merit list, students will be allowed to take admission between July 19 and July 23. The second merit list will be out on August 5. The merit list for spot selection will be published on August 14 and the classes for first year students will commence from August 24.
