3 excise officials injured in attack by unknown persons in Balasore

Balasore: Three Excise officials sustained critical injuries after being attacked by a group of unidentified persons near Mirigimundi chhak  while returning after conducting a raid at Rupsa area in the district today.

According to sources, a squad of Excise officials arrested a person and also seized illicit liquor from his possession during a raid at Rupsa area.

However, while returning with the arrested person, around ten to twelve people waylaid and allegedly attacked the officials of the squad. After attacking, they managed to flee the spot along with the arrested person.

Being informed, police reached the spot and rescued the injured officials who were later admitted to a local hospital.

Police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused persons behind the attack.
