3-Day Extended Shutdown In Cuttack From Tomorrow; Details Of Permitted Activities
Cuttack: In view of rising COVID-19 cases, Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) ordered a complete shutdown of the city till July 8. This is in addition to the two-day weekend shutdown being implemented in several districts of the State including the Twin City of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar on Saturdays and Sundays.
CMC officials informed that the decision to further extend the shutdown till July 8 will help in carrying out active surveillance and contact tracing.
During the enforcement of shutdown, all non-essential shops will be closed and non-essential travel prohibited, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) said in a notification yesterday.
All the essential shops including grocery, vegetable, milk and medicine stores, electricity and water supply will remain open.
Here is a complete list of the permitted and non-permitted activities.
-Banks/post offices will remain open with 33% staff. Customers are not allowed but they can avail services through online mode.
-Industrial units engaged in manufacturing essential items. Such units to function with 33% staff capacity.
-Inter-district movement of individuals for medical reasons or for activities permitted by competent authority.
-Petrol pumps/gas agencies/ telecom services allowed with strict adherence to COVID-19 norms.
-All government offices shall remain open with 50% staff strength as per the orders of GA and Public Grievances Department.
-All social, political, sports, entertainment, academic, cultural, religious functions and other gatherings. However, marriage functions with maximum 50 people and funeral with maximum 20 allowed based on prior permission.
-Cinema halls, shopping malls, market complexes, gymnasiums, sports complexes, swimming pools, entertainment parks, theatres, bars and assembly halls.
-Schools, colleges, educational, training, coaching centres to remain closed. However, online and distance learning allowed.
-Hospitality services other than those used for housing health, police and government officials, health workers, stranded persons including tourists and quarantine facilities.
Essential movement of vehicles is allowed subjected to the following conditions:
-Taxis and cab aggregators with 1 driver and 2 passengers only. Two passengers besides driver allowed in four wheelers.
-Inter-district movement of individuals and vehicles only permitted with due sanction.
-Railways, inter-state and inter-district buses allowed. However, people are advised to avoid travel for non-essential purposes. Personal vehicles can move for non-essential purposes through permission of concerned officials only.
-All shops, whether wholesale and retail, allowed to function between 5 AM and 6 PM.
-All shops and establishments must ensure social distancing and use of masks by staff
