Bhubaneswar: The annual Plus-II examinations conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), began in Odisha on Wednesday.

The examination began at 10 AM across 1,098 examination centres in the State. According to sources, the question papers have been stored in 103 examination management hubs, which have been kept under close circuit television (CCTV) camera surveillance. Moreover, the hubs are also under 24-hour police protection.

As per the schedule, the Science examinations started from today while Arts and Commerce examinations will start from March 3 and 4 respectively. The Science examinations will end on March 20 while Commerce and Arts examinations will conclude; on March 23 and March 21 respectively. The Vocational examination will end on March 24.

Briefing the media on the preparations made by the council for the exams, CHSE chairperson Prof Basudev Chhatoi said on Monday “Before the commencement at 10 AM, the question papers would be taken from the strong rooms of the examination management hubs to the examination centres by the observers in whose presence the question packets would be opened by the centre superintendents.”

This year, the Council has decided to announce the results by the second week of May.
