Bhubaneswar/Imphal: At least 20 Judo players of Odisha were reportedly injured after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident in the north-east frontier Indian state of Manipur late last night.

As per reports, the players were on their way to Dimapur from Imphal after taking part in a Judo competition, when the driver of the bus lost control and the vehicle turned turtle around 20 kmts away from Dimapur.

"Under 15 and 17 National Judo competition of boys and girls was there in Imphal from October 14 to 19. Yesterday, the players were on their way to Dimapur to board a train to return to Odisha when their bus overturned at around 12 am," informed Gitanjali Panda, CEO of Odisha Judo Association.

The players have received multiple injuries in the accident. Locals helped the children and rushed them to hospital. Though no casually has been reported, some players have got collar bone and spinal cord injuries, said Panda.

Meanwhile, all the players have reportedly boarded a train and they will reach Odisha tomorrow at around 5 PM.
