Bhadrak: Two pilgrims were killed while 20 others sustained grievous injuries after the bus they were travelling in hit a truck from the rear near Charampa on NH-16 in Bhadrak district late on Saturday night.

The deceased have been identified as Ram Sagar Yadav, the driver and Shibnarayan Pati, a passenger of the bus.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) while a woman, who received grievous injuries, has been shifted to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.

All the pilgrims are reportedly residents of Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh.

According to reports, the mishap took place at around 2.30 am when the driver of the bus, carrying more than 50 passengers and en route to Puri, lost control and rammed the rear of a bamboo-laden truck.
