Paradip: At least two persons including an eight-year-old boy were killed while four others reportedly sustained critical injuries in separate road mishaps in Odisha on Wednesday morning.

As per reports, an eight-year-old boy was killed and three of the family members sustained critical injuries after a Bolero they were travelling in collided with a trailer at Khandatira near Raghunathpur police limit this morning.

The deceased and all the injured belong to one family. The injured have been admitted to the nearby hospital. The driver of the vehicle also sustained injuries in the mishap.

Raghunathpur police rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem.

In another mishap, a brick-laden mini truck overturned near Khandapada under Nayagarh district killing the driver.

The deceased has been identified as Abhay Swain from Sikharpur village.

According to reports, the mishap took place when the overloaded mini truck was enroute to Bhubaneswar from Sikharpur. The driver lost control over the vehicle due to over speeding and it turned turtle.

On being informed, Khandapada police reached the spot and started a probe into the incident.

Another truck loaded with fish overturned near Odagaon in the district after hitting a car. The driver reported lost control over the wheels and the truck turned turtle, say onlookers.

However, no injury has been reported in the incident.

Odagaon police rushed to the spot, cleared the road and seized both the vehicles. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
