Sundergarh: At least 19 women Bol Bom devotees were left injured after a truck rammed into the pick-up van they were travelling in near Gomadihi in Sundergarh district on Monday evening.

The women devotees hailing from Gadgadbahal village under Badagaon in the district had gone to Ghoghar Dham in Rajgangpur to offer water to Lord Shiva on occasion of Shravan Somvar yesterday.

The mishap took place when they were on their way back from the temple.

As per reports, the injured women were immediately rushed to the Rajgangpur Urban Heath Centre (UHC) and later 12 of them were shifted to the Rourkela Government Hospital.

“Most of them have received head injuries besides fractures in hands and legs. After preliminary treatment, some 8-10 injured women were referred to Rourkela Hospital,” informed a doctor at the UHC.

On getting information, Rajgangpur police rushed to the spot and started investigation.
