Cuttack: At least 16 persons including two students were injured in two different road mishaps in Cuttack and Nayagarh on Saturday.

Six persons including two students were injured after a passenger bus rammed into an engineering college bus near Kathajodi bridge in Cuttack today.

The incident occurred at around 9 am when the 'Jay Durga' bus carrying around 42 passengers from Kakatpur hit the college bus from behind on Kathajodi bridge.

On getting information, Sadar police rushed to the spot and seized both the vehicles. All the injured have been admitted to SCB Medical Collage and Hospital in Cuttack and their conditon is said to be stable.

In another instance, ten persons were injured in a series of accidents involving a bus at Bahada chhak under Fategarh police limits in Nayagarh district today.

According to reports, the driver of the bus first had knocked down a man near Bahada chhak. Later, the bus driver rammed into two more vehicles injuring nine more persons while trying to flee the spot.

Following the incident, locals gheroed Khandapada police station demanding action against the bus driver. Meanwhile, police have detained the bus driver and further investigation is on.
