15 injured as bus turns turtle in Bhadrak

Bhadrak: As many as fifteen passengers were injured today after a bus they were travelling in turned turtle near Bekamudi Melana field in Basudevpur of the district.

According to sources, the bus carrying over 50 passengers was enroute to Basudevpur from Bhadrak when the incident occurred.

Sources said the driver lost control over the vehicle following which it overturned near Melana field. Soon after the incident, all the injured persons were admitted to Basudevpur Hospital while five of them were later shifted to Bhadrak Hospital after their condition deteriorated, sources added.

Chief District Medical Officer Dr MA Rashid said, "A few of them have sustained injuries on head while others have sustained minor injuries. Those who are critically injured have been shifted to ward."

Meanwhile, police rushed to the spot and launched a manhunt to nab the absconding driver and helper of the bus.
