Bhubaneswar: The daily cases of COVID-19 in Odisha continued to remain below  2,000-mark since last three days with detection of 1931 new infections in the last 24 hours that pushed the tally to 274181 while 13 more succumbed to the disease taking the death toll to 1181

Of the new positive cases, 1120 patients are from quarantine while 811 are local contact cases. Four districts recorded over 100 cases with Khordha witnessing the maximum of 273 cases followed by Cuttack (153), Angul (120), Sundergarh (104), informed the State I&PR department.

The Health department said while four deaths were reported from Mayurbhanj, three deaths each recorded in Puri, two deaths in Khordha (Bhubaneswar) and one death each in Bolangir, Nuapada, Angul and Balasore districts.

With this, active cases in Odisha stood at 20750 while 252197 have so far recovered from the disease, data released by the State I& PR Department said.

Official reports revealed that 42304 samples were tested on Saturday for Covid-19 taking the number of samples tested cumulatively across the State to 4159394.
