13 Kumbh Mela Returnees Test Covid Positive In Cuttack

Cuttack: As many as 13 people returning after participation in the Haridwar Kumbh Mela have tested positive for Covid-19 in Cuttack.

Local urban authority, the Cuttack Municipal Corporation informed that a total of 30 samples obtained from people upon their arrival at Cuttack railway station from Uttarakhand were screened for the presence of virus infection. Out of the examined samples, 13 indicated positive results.

Odisha government had earlier mentioned that around 400 people of as many as 150 families from Odisha attended Kumbh Mela at Haridwar this year out of which nine families alone were from Cuttack.

As per official protocols laid out by the Odisha government, people testing positive for the virus will have to remain in quarantine for 14 days.
