Nuapada: Tension prevailed in Dohelpada village under Khariar police limits of Nuapada today following a clash between two groups leaving as many as eleven persons including four women injured.

As per reports, the clash between two groups broke out over suspected past enmity. During the violent face-off, stones were hurled from both sides following which several persons suffered injuries.

Subsequently, all the critically injured persons were rushed to Khariar hospital for primary treatment and later four of them were shifted to Raipur as their condition worsened.

"Tension between two families having blood-relationship today turned into a group clash. The two groups have a record of past-enmity over high school secretary post. Previously, complaints had been lodged against them and the case is pending," said Biranchi Narayan Dehury, Nuapada SDPO.

"The village has witnessed largescale desertions by male members after the group clash. We have deployed police force to maintain tranquility in the village," he added.

Though none was arrested in the incident, the SDPO assured to take strict legal actions against the guilty after the investigation.
